GoodFin is reimagining private wealth management, a legacy $1.25T market. We launched last year with a platform enabling our customers – typically digitally savvy professionals who are building their wealth and investment portfolios – to invest in high quality alternative assets such as venture capital and private equity funds. Our vision is to productize and democratize sophisticated financial services that have been historically performed by teams of humans at legacy private banks and wealth managers, including financial planning, tax and estate planning, and investment management.

We are a seed-stage startup backed by Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, Phoenix Fund, Perpetua Investment Group and angel investors from leading companies across tech and finance.

Position Overview:

• About You: You’re a driven, hands-on engineer excited to build from scratch. You believe in AI’s potential to reshape fintech and crave a team that matches your passion for innovation.
• About the Role: We need a skilled AI Engineer to develop our advanced wealth technology platform, with expertise in multi-modal LLMs, RAG architectures, and AI agents.

Responsibilities:

• Shape and execute an AI roadmap using cutting-edge multi-modal and finance-specific models.
• Deliver end-to-end AI features—from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Optimize RAG pipelines and hybrid search for financial data retrieval.
• Build autonomous AI agents for financial analysis and portfolio management.
• Collaborate across design, product, and business teams.
• Keep up with AI trends like advanced prompting and multi-agent systems.
• Contribute ideas and support team growth as we scale.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field.
• 3+ years in software engineering, with 1+ year in modern LLMs (e.g., Claude, Llama) or 3+ years in AI/ML broadly.
• Strong grasp of RAG architectures and retrieval optimization.
• Experience with multi-modal AI (text, numbers, documents).
• Skilled in prompting techniques and AI agent orchestration (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen).
• Proficient in Python, TypeScript, or similar.
• Excellent technical communication and documentation.
• Thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous startup settings and love AI-fintech innovation.
