The role: Senior Software Engineer, Merchant Success & API (100% Remote)

Build and own the merchant-facing APIs on the payments and integrations team. Backend-heavy full-stack work in a Python/Django monolith, designing APIs (disputes, reconciliation, catalog) consumed by major brand partners. Looking for a high-slope senior engineer who thrives with autonomy, ships quickly and owns features end to end.

• Design, build and own merchant-facing APIs for HSA/FSA-eligible transactions
• Optimize database queries and backend performance
• Build and iterate on the merchant dashboard, consuming your own public APIs
• Partner with product and go-to-market as the company enters new merchant categories
• Use AI coding tools to ship at startup pace

What they're looking for

• 4-10 years of experience, backend-heavy full-stack (senior level, not staff/principal)
• Strong Python and Django
• API design and database performance optimization; metrics instrumentation
• CS degree or equivalent; US-based (no visa sponsorship)
• Merchant integrations or payments/fintech experience a plus

Tech: Python, Django, Next.js, React, TypeScript

Compensation: $175K-$225K base + equity

Location: 100% Remote (US) with 4x/year offsites
