Engineering Manager, Platform —

Series D travel-tech startup ($1B valuation) building a modern platform for the $100B+ travel agency industry. They're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead and grow their Platform Team—the foundational group responsible for the reliability, scalability, and developer experience powering the entire product suite.

What you'd own: The roadmap for core platform capabilities—cloud infrastructure (AWS), CI/CD pipelines, observability, secrets management, and database reliability at scale. You'd set technical direction, establish SLOs with product teams, drive developer productivity, and stay hands-on with architecture. This is a player-coach role: equal parts developing people and staying close to the systems.

You'd also: Coach and grow a team of engineers, manage contractor/vendor relationships, partner on security and compliance practices, and contribute to recruiting.

Requirements:

• 4+ years engineering management
• 8+ years software/infrastructure engineering, with depth in platform/DevOps/infra
• Strong hands-on technical acumen (architecture, infra design, fundamentals)
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containers, CI/CD, observability, database reliability
• Proven mentorship, performance management, and recruiting experience
• Comfort with early/mid-stage startup ambiguity and pace

Strongly preferred: High-traffic B2B2C or marketplace architectures; Kubernetes, Terraform, PostgreSQL, and message queues (RabbitMQ/Celery).

Comp: $210k–$235k + equity. Benefits include a fully-covered health insurance option, dental/vision, 401k match, unlimited vacation, commuter benefits, and stock options.
