Senior Data Analyst – NYC Hybrid (T/W/Th in office)

We let hourly workers get paid the moment they clock out — instantly, safely, and free for employers — by embedding earned-wage access directly inside the biggest payroll platforms in America (Gusto live today, QuickBooks live now, many more in 2026).


Why This Role Is Different

  • Your dashboards don’t sit in a corner — they move millions of real paychecks and directly influence product strategy with Gusto, QuickBooks, TriNet, and the exec team.
  • You’ll work with a data moat almost no one else has: real-time wage, hour, and transaction streams from inside payroll systems + FDIC-insured banking rails.
  • Tiny, high-ownership data team (you’ll be one of the first handful of analysts). Everything you build will be seen and felt immediately.
  • Regulated, bank-backed environment — accuracy, auditability, and risk awareness actually matter here (and are rewarded).


What You’ll Actually Own

  • Full analytics lifecycle in Snowflake + dbt: raw payroll & banking data → clean models → production Looker/Tableau dashboards → presentations that win buy-in from product, finance, and external payroll partners.
  • Spot the question no one asked yet, answer it, socialize it, and get the company to act.
  • Define and govern the metrics that run the business.
  • Make every team self-sufficient with data (yes, you get to kill the “can you just run this report?” Slack messages forever).


Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable)

  • Expert SQL on messy, real-world financial/transactional data (payroll data experience is a massive plus)
  • Daily-driver experience with dbt + Snowflake (modeling & transforms)
  • Production-grade Looker or Tableau dashboards that people actually use and trust
  • Proven ability to translate insights into decisions and present confidently to execs + external partners
  • Regulated experience (fintech, banking, payments, insurance, healthtech) — you’ve lived the audit/accuracy life
  • Ownership mindset: you see the need → build it → socialize it → iterate (no ticket-waiting)
  • NYC-based and genuinely happy in office Tue/Wed/Thu


Nice-to-Haves

  • Python/R for automation or light modeling
  • Experience with interchange, wage, or transaction data
  • Prior work with payroll, HRIS, or workforce platforms


Compensation & Perks

  • $155 - 175k base range + meaningful equity for true zero-ramp hires
